Recently, Bellaex has completed loading and is shipping a 240-ton-per-day steam flaking corn line to Ningxia Grain Group.
Engineering Highlights That Set the Benchmark
Designed for durability, hygiene, and plant-friendly operation, the steam flaking corn production line features a fully enclosed structure built from 304 stainless steel, paired with an integrated steam exhaust system. This combination significantly reduces steam-induced corrosion across the facility, extending service life and safeguarding long-term asset performance.
At the heart of the system, the flaking rolls are supplied by CFHI and produced via centrifugal composite casting. The high nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy rolls deliver a hardness of HS 73±3 with an alloy layer thickness of 30–35 mm. Post-machining, each roll undergoes rigorous dynamic balance testing to ensure smooth, stable operation—critical for continuous, high-throughput steam flaking corn production with reduced vibration and wear.
What further differentiates the line is Bellaex’s portfolio of invention patents—most notably the on-line adjustable roll gap on the steam flaking corn machine. This capability lets operators fine-tune flake thickness while the machine is running, avoiding repeated shutdowns and mitigating product variability. End-to-End Process Control: From Conditioning to Drying
The shipment also includes Bellaex’s horizontal dryer-cooler, recognized for strong drying capacity and excellent dewatering performance. It reliably reduces corn flake moisture from about 20% to below 14%, providing a stable safety margin for storage, transport, and downstream batching across diverse climate conditions.
Upstream, the corn conditioning tower is purpose-designed for feed mill applications. It employs a unique counter-current steam conditioning mechanism: as material moves upward from bottom to top, steam flows downward, achieving progressive, uniform conditioning. A built-in steam distribution and balancing system ensures even steam dispersion within the chamber, while all contact surfaces are stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance, high throughput, and minimal maintenance. The straightforward structure and operator-friendly design further reduce operational complexity and downtime.
